home...
these past few months, "home" can mean two things for me. Our actual house in Toronto or our apartment in Montreal.
Anyways, this weekend I went home to Montreal. It was my first time back in 2 months. I PACKED it with brunch with Cat, shopping with B, Cheung family dinner, GTs back at B's apt, church, appointment with photog, FUNCH at l'étranger, more shopping at HR (c'mon it is 70% off!! a real actual live sale!!), more GTs...and finally a sleepy flight home.
This weekend, going to the Cheung family dinner freaked me out a bit (btw, PP is related to the entire south-side asian community) but it reminded me of how blessed I am to become part of such a great family.
I feel really amazed and undeserving of their kindness - everyone including obscur aunts with crazy hair treat me well and show me love. It is the best feeling to be accepted for who I am and loved inspite of my unsmiling qualities.
It should also be mentioned that my wedding photos turned out AMAZING. The photog is such an amazing artist. Looking at all the pictures - I can't believe how 2006 turned out to be the most amazing year of my life!
At the beginning of last year, I was running a thousand miles per hour with my crazy job. I was finally getting used to my first greatest purchase - my place and planning fabulous trips with my sister.
Who knew that PP would propose in May! Next came the new job in Toronto and the crazy move/wedding planning/new-job months.
My greatest memory of those chaotic months are the days my mother and I spent huddled around my piles of newly unpacked stuff. She helped me emotionally and literally through the move and the wedding preparations. It gave me a great opportunity to spend quality time with the people I love. But more importantly, I spent my last single days spoiling my best girls!
I couldn't help but spoil the bridesmaid and maid of honour with the lovely dresses, the meal at Rain (best meal in Toronto!), the hotel suite in Mtl - it was the best money spent. We had so much fun and I was so honoured that they would take the time to be a part of the greatest day of my life.
Finally, I am proud of my new husband. Looking at pictures of him remind me of his best quality. His heart. Watching him deal with a difficult situation recently reaffirmed the fact that we could be destitude in the future, but we would be rich with dignity, integrity, compassion for others and love for all of God's creation.
I look forward to 2007 - I have a feeling that God wants to teach PP and I to risk the stabilty we both value and learn to depend on each other and God more.
And finally for the 50th time this weekend, no we are NOT going to have babies anytime soon!!
