terminal illness.

i've been stuck at this stupid halifax airport for over 4 hours now. still 1.5 hours left before i finally get on the charlottetown flight. this month alone, i've spent more time in airports and airplanes than my own place.

i feel like Tom Hanks from the movie Terminal. It does get really boring being stranded in an airport. I've done all my work for the next few days on my laptop, i've read every single rag (i now know everything there is to know regarding the jen-brad break up), i think i smell like an airplane seat now.

funny. never thought i would complain about being away from home. i used to dig it because it would be a break from the ordinary. but now travelling is the norm for me and i long to stand on solid ground. at least for awhile.

the cajun cronicles.

so i went to party with my girl friend of 18 years in new orleans this weekend. i flew there to be her date for a company function. yes, we were hot.

it was tons of fun getting all dressed up and having girl talk in an altogether different kind of place.

alas, with the good comes the bad.

critique 1: bourbon street is where all the degenerates flock to. i didn't appreciate having to dodge fat nasty boobies, jumping over piles of barf to save my expensive shoes, and i really didn't like all the unnecessary oogling and comments from the rougher sex.

critique 2: being on the south beach diet is BULLSHIT! i tried it for 3 days and it is one tough bugger. diets of any kind are stupid. i appreciate my friend for trying to reform my eating habits - but i really lack the patience and discipline to undertake such a feat.

all in all - i had a great time hanging out with my buddy. but i just gotta say that N-O is highly overrated.

p.s. it's never the hot girls that flash their boobies.

latest obsession: pink grapefruit mentos

My Photo

the best part of the packaging in china is that they use a character from my chinese name.

still jetlagged.

caca. but i figure that i'll be okay when i get back to montreal. so a few more things i want to say about these past couple of weeks.

loss: so there was this one terrible day at the beginning of my vacation. i went to iron one of my absolutely favourite t-shirts (no it wasn't a bruce lee shirt..phewf!!) and the iron was too hot or something cause it just ripped apart my shirt. boo. then not a few hours later i plug my precious flat-iron into the wrong adapter plug and the 220v blows up my appliance!! #(@$*&^($#*@&^@#$!!! it sucks to lose things you love. even if it is just material things. then i watched tsunami footage on the evening news. it was before anyone knew the full extent of the damage. and i realized just how blessed i am sitting in a warm living room with my family.

honest holiday recap

why honest? because i am in vancouver - jetlagged like nobody's business.

shanghai: it was marvelous. my parents are the best. my dad is hilarious. and my mom has become a super shanghainese tai-tai. i ate like a pig and just hung out with the 'rents. not too much partying - when it gets down to it...i can party anytime i want but only get to see my parents 2 weeks in a year. so the choice was easy. that and i'm afraid that my SH connection has become a total man-whore. wtf. where's the respect.

kaiping/guangzhou: finally went down south to visit my 'rents' hometown. met the sweetest cutest little 4 year old chiquita who speaks my dialect like a pro. she's so cute cause true to her southern chinese heritage, she likes to chase down chickens. when i ask her why she's chasing the chickens, she says in toisan "to chop them up, cook them, and eat them!" no pets please.

vancouver: plagued by the weirdest instance of jetlag of my life. i can deal with the 12/13 hour difference but somehow the 9 hour difference between van and SH is just messing with my body clock. i haven't slept yet and it's 4h30am here...

all in all - i was cold the entire vacation because snow and unusually freezing temperatures followed me wherever i went.

cheers to everyone who made my 2004 a complete hit. so many blessings this year it's just pure madness.

pics of my year-end trip to follow.

things to look forward to in 2005? well just keep reading. plenty of mischief ahead.
