stress = losing stuff

i just got home last night from a crazy business trip. i was quite stressed and literally left my pants in Moncton. that's right - i had to call the hotel:

"hello - i was a guest in your hotel. i checked out this morning but...i left my pants in the room...i ummm was wondering if you could send them to my house?"

how stupid!

then i realized that i lost my secur ID. for all the workies out there - you know how precious a secur ID is!!! it enables one to work outside of the office and connect on the network. sighs

finally - my husband said that i lost some weight.

(i should note that previously stressful situations have resulted in the loss of bank cards, credit cards, cell phones, sunglasses, etc...)

so stress = losing stuff.

Montreal vs. Toronto

This for all these people who are appalled that I could actually prefer Toronto to my hometown.

To get a health card and license in Ontario, simply show up at one office and both can exchange an out-of-province card for the Ontario ones. Total process = 30 mins plus some driving time.

To get a health card and license in Quebec: For the license, show up at the office in Henri-Bourassa. Fine, that is easy!
For the health card, a completely different process, office, government group that is not connected to the License office. Step 1: call in advance to get a registration form. If line is busy (which it always is), they hang up on you and you must redial. What is step 2? I don't know, for the past 3 months I have not gotten past step 1! Another alternative is to show up at the sketch office once to get the form in person. Then get all necessary documentation and go to the office in person a second time on a different day. From past experiences, I recall that this process takes more than an hour wait each time...if lucky. Once I waited 3 hours.
Total process: indefinite - maybe I will just hang on to my Ontario stuff until the next time I move. URGH!@!!!#@($*&!@#$^(*&!!

Haters

I am sick of how my morning radio news has been invaded by britney-news of late. All these haters talk about how she should lose her children and that she's fat. How they can talk about the two subjects in one phrase is ridiculous!

I don't know if all those things they say about her are true or not. But all I know is that when her disgusting poseur of an ex was cavorting around town with "bitches" and "hoe's" in drunken/drugged debauchery - no one threatened to take his kids away.

A bad father is forgiveable but a bad mother is not.

I shall now get off my soapbox...

I want to look older.

Since my life was getting out of control - i took a day off to regain some work-life balance. Finally after 3.5 months of being back in Montreal, I took the time to sign up for the gym. The girl at the Y assumed I was a full-time student. At which point, I did not know whether to be happy or annoyed. I know that the crazy work schedule I keep does sometimes give me that tired look so I was happy that it wasn't showing today. But I have been working so hard to look old and look "credible" that I was quickly reminded that if I choose exercise clothes over leopard, I look like a young person again.

I guess the ideal would be to look like a relaxed, well-rested 35 year old. I still have 7 years to go before my ideal age.
